Goo Goo Dolls - Always Incredible
The Goo Goo Dolls always incredible are. A fantastic mix of songs from their vast catalog, this show was particularly fast paced. They never skip any of the classics, and artfully mix in the listener can have great memories and enjoy the excitement of the constant flow of awesome new music - the present and future, all at the same time. They make us all forever young and alive! "Better Days" was a stand out for me - the set list also included, Stay With You, Big Machine, Slide, So Alive, Rebel Beat, Black Balloon, Name, Here is Gone, Bringing on the Light, Free of Me, Over and Over, Miracle Pill (new song), Iris, and Broadway. John and Robbie are always so endearing and humble - their energy and enthusiasm is infectious! John played the first verse of Name alone on an acoustic guitar, which was so compelling. Robbie provided very enjoyable animated performances with his lead vocals. They write timeless songs that relate to REAL LIFE, which people of all ages can enjoy - as demonstrated by the wide age range in the crowd. I bought tickets the very next day for the new GGD tour in the fall and I have pre-ordered the new album! I can truly say that when I am at a GGD concert, there is no place that I would rather be. I also highly encourage people to look up the lyrics to their songs - beyond the incredible sound, there is a whole other level of brilliance, depth, and honest reflection. They have been a blessing for so many years and I pray for many, many more with them in the future! Eurydice was really enjoyable as well - I had not seen them before. Monahan is a great artist and the whole band is very personable. The guitarist from Cincinnati was amazing! The entire band was beaming through every song, it was obvious that they love what they do. Their set list included all of the hits and several really fun covers (Under Pressure, American Girl, and a Zepplin song). I would definitely go to see Eurydice again. The opening act, Allen Stone, was really good as well. His performance with Eurydice on "Bruises" was a fun twist.
